This is partly achieved by the sugar free nature of the product, but Ferndale claim the biggest weight loss benefits come from the appetite supressing qualities of the main ingredient—acacia gum.

Slim Fruits Key Ingredients

Sucralose – A sweetener made from sucrose (table sugar) that has been altered at the molecular level to make it almost impossible to digest. This means most of it passes straight through the body. It only releases about a fifth of the kilojoules provided by normal sugar, but still manages to be around 600 times sweeter.

Acacia Gum (Gum Arabic) – Created from sap harvested from acacia trees, acacia gum is a natural ingredient that provides GMO free soluble fibre that can improve digestive tract health and help prevent certain diseases including colon cancer. It boasts zero carbohydrates, can ensure efficient nutrient absorption, and lowers cholesterol. Acacia gum is also very absorbent and, as it soaks up water, it expands in the stomach to create a feeling of fullness and supresses the appetite.

After one test, conducted on 120 healthy adult female volunteers, the researchers concluded: “GA ingestion causes significant reduction in BMI and body fat percentage among healthy adult females. The effect could be exploited in the treatment of obesity.”

Slim Fruits Side Effects, Safety Concerns

Sucralose has a bit of a bad rep, but it appears to be totally undeserved.

Some people have said it may trigger migraine headaches, others say its use can cause shrinkage of the thymus gland. Such claims—and many more—seem to be copied from one website to the next, but there is no solid evidence to back any of them up.

In September 2000, the European Commission’s Scientific Committee on Food reviewed the information available and declared sucralose safe from human consumption. The FDA has also approved its use, but still the scaremongering goes on.

As a weight loss aid Slim Fruits certainly has merit, but many weight loss supplements will undoubtedly have superior abilities. As a healthy snack though, Slim Fruits is second to none and should work very well alongside other dietary products and when used as part of an overall weight loss routine that includes a healthy diet and regular exercise.
